Strength training is gaining ground. At the same time, so is the desire to be outdoors. With Gymboxx, we are introducing a new outdoor sports trend. A great mix of boot camp and CrossFit!
We, Jelle Rietveld and Arthur Baars, are Gymboxx, builders of outdoor gyms. A truly Dutch, vandal-proof product that can be installed and used anywhere. We started Gymboxx in 2019, driven by our shared passion for outdoor sports. Jelle brings a background in personal training, whilst Arthur contributes specialist expertise in steel fabrication and welding. We prefer to be involved in every aspect of the process.
Rachel Coan is the marketing lead for Gymboxx UK, with over 25 years’ experience in marketing, communications, and business development across the not-for-profit and engineering sectors. Based in Northumberland, she leads an active outdoor lifestyle and spends much of her time supporting her three rugby-playing teenagers. She works closely with the Gymboxx Netherlands team to ensure the brand connects with UK schools, clubs, organisations and communities that value high-quality outdoor training.
Every Gymboxx starts with the site. We assess what’s possible, what’s permitted and how the space can be used to its full potential. Working with you, we will design and tailor the configuration to maximise the value of your Gymboxx outdoor training space. We will then manage the delivery and installation, and once your Gymboxx is in place we can provide an introductory training session, to demonstrate the equipment use and effective workout formats.
DUTCH-ENGINEERED
All Gymboxx systems are engineered and manufactured in the Gymboxx workshop in Rijswijk, the Netherlands. This ensures full control over quality and customisation, allowing each unit to be configured precisely for its environment and users. Training requirements vary significantly between settings, from schools to elite sport environments. Size, rack configuration and equipment specifications are tailored to suit each application.
Gymboxx systems are delivered and installed across the UK by experienced teams, with full coordination from order through to commissioning. We manage transport, site access and installation to ensure a smooth, reliable setup at your location.
BUILD FOR STRENGTH AND DURABILITY
Gymboxx systems are engineered with years of experience in outdoor training environments, using high-grade materials designed to withstand intensive use and harsh Northern European weather.
Each Gymboxx is built on a new shipping container - a structure designed to transport many tonnes of cargo at sea for decades. This creates an exceptionally strong and stable base for the external training rigs while remaining easy to transport and position on site. Units can be installed quickly and, if required, dismantled and relocated within hours.
External training rigs are manufactured from stainless steel as standard, providing outstanding strength, corrosion resistance and long-term durability in outdoor settings. Container exteriors are finished with an industrial two-layer coating system, for additional weather protection, and a high-quality finish which is available in your chosen colour featuring your logo and branding.
